Summary:

Seeking a temp electronics technician with two to five (2-5) years of experience, who will work under the general supervision of higher level technicians and engineers on communication-related systems, radar systems and radio frequency (RF)-based systems. Activities will include build, repair, modify and test development and limited production systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble experimental and prototype circuitry, wire harnesses and RF cables according to engineering direction, work instructions, and knowledge of electronic systems and components.
  • Adjust, calibrate, align and modify circuitry and components, and record effects on unit performance following written and verbal instructions.
  • Troubleshoot and test units with relatively few complex features using electronic and RF-based test equipment and applying principles and theories of electronics, electrical circuitry, and engineering mathematics, electronic and electrical testing, and physics following test instructions and engineering direction.
  • Set-up standard test apparatus to conduct functional, operational, and environmental and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of development, prototype, or limited production units and systems following test instructions and engineering direction.
  • Operate drill press, band saw, shear, brake, hand drills or other machine tools to fabricate parts, brackets, terminal boards and chassis.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in a technical specialty, such as electronics technology, electrical engineering technology or related technology degree; a bachelor s degree is a plus (equivalent combination of training and experience, either military or civilian, will be considered).
  • Two to five years of related experience (this can included internships) is required.Must be able to understand and interpret electronic schematics, electronic drawings, mechanical drawings, test and assembly instructions, and specifications.
  • Must have general computer skills including MS Office.
  • Proficient with hand tools for assembly.
  • Must understand the operation of and have experience setting up test equipment using Multi-Meters, Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers and other types of test equipment.
  • Experience hand soldering complex narrow pitch surface-mount devices and similar packages, assembly and test of RF cables such as SMA, N-type and other cable/harness connectors is preferred with J-Standard certification a plus.
  • Experience working with radar systems, communication-related systems, RF-based systems and navigation systems or other complex electronics technology is highly desirable.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen; applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
