Location: On-site in Auburn, NY
Salary Range: $110,000 – $130,000 + Bonus


About the Role:
We are seeking an Automation Manager to lead a highly technical team in designing and implementing cutting-edge automation solutions. This is a pivotal role where you will drive strategic automation initiatives, mentor a team of engineers, and collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions in manufacturing. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team of automation engineers in the development of new automation builds.
  • Drive the development process, ensuring strategic alignment with customer and manufacturing goals.
  • Monitor project progress, maintaining strict adherence to cost and timeline objectives.
  • Develop and implement strategies for automation builds, focusing on platform solutions, cost positioning, and OEM selection.
  • Actively participate in quoting processes to identify and execute optimal solutions for customers.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of automation projects, from solution definition to equipment delivery.

Qualifications:

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field is preferred but not required.
Experience:
  • Proven leadership experience (5+ years) with a track record of developing and guiding technical teams.
  • 5–10 years of hands-on experience in automation, with a strong background in controls, electrical, or mechanical engineering.
Technical Skills:
  • Expertise in robotics, conveyance systems, and PLCs (Allen Bradley and Siemens experience preferred).
  • Strategic mindset with a focus on cost-effective platform solutions and long-term planning.
Certifications:
  • Relevant certifications in automation or engineering fields are a plus.
Soft Skills:
  • Exceptional communication skills to effectively engage with customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Leadership excellence with the ability to inspire, develop, and lead a team of technical professionals.
  • Customer-centric approach with strong problem-solving and solution-oriented skills.
