Job Title: Data Warehouse Architect
Location: Syracuse, NY – Hybrid
Job Type: Full-time, direct hire
Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000 annually depending on experience
Join a growing technology team as a Data Warehouse Architect in a strategic and high-impact role. This position offers the opportunity to design and lead the development of a scalable data warehouse solution from the ground up. Reporting to the Director of Software Engineering, you will work cross-functionally to consolidate data from multiple systems into a centralized platform that empowers data-driven decision-making and enables self-service analytics.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business leaders to translate strategic objectives into technical data requirements.
- Architectural Design: Develop robust architecture integrating data from relational databases and legacy systems.
- Metadata and Data Labeling: Create standardized data labeling systems and maintain metadata repositories.
- ETL and Integration: Lead the design and implementation of ETL processes for accurate, timely data flow.
- Data Modeling: Design logical and physical data models, including data cubes, for efficient querying and analytics.
- Data Governance: Define and enforce data quality standards and governance policies.
- Enable Business Intelligence: Support BI tools deployment to promote self-service analytics and reporting.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Align data strategies with business goals across departments.
- Technical Leadership: Mentor teams and share best practices to strengthen data architecture capabilities.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years in data architecture, data modeling, and data warehouse development.
- Proven experience with enterprise-scale data warehousing.
- Hands-on experience with ETL processes and tools.
- Experience with IBM iSeries (DB2), Microsoft SQL Server, and data integration from diverse sources.
- Expertise in logical/physical data modeling.
- Proficiency in metadata management and standardized data labeling.
- Strong knowledge of data governance and quality assurance.
- Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Cognos.
- Understanding of time-series and temporal data management.
- Professional certifications in data management, warehousing, or analytics are a plus.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Collaborative and proactive team player.
- Self-driven and innovative.
- Experience in distribution or supply chain industries.
- Familiarity with RPG programming (preferred but not required).
- Experience with cloud-based warehousing platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse).
- Exposure to big data frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
