Location: Syracuse, NY (On-site)
Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000 annually depending on experience

About the role:
We are seeking a skilled Application Development Manager to join our team in a dynamic, hands-on managerial role. The ideal candidate will have a strong application development background, experience in code review, development, and testing, and the ability to proactively identify and resolve vulnerabilities. This role requires a balance of technical expertise and leadership skills to drive the success of development initiatives while ensuring best practices and quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and participate in the end-to-end software development lifecycle, including design, coding, code review, testing, and deployment.
  • Perform thorough code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and security best practices.
  • Conduct vulnerability scanning and proactively address security issues within applications.
  • Manage and mentor development teams, providing guidance on technical and project-related challenges.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project goals align with business objectives.
  • Drive issue resolution processes by troubleshooting and providing timely solutions.
  • Maintain and enhance applications using technologies such as Visual Studio, Visual Basic, Java, C#, and .NET.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve system efficiency, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to incorporate best practices.

Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years of experience in application development with a proven track record in managerial or leadership roles.
  • Strong programming experience with Visual Studio, Visual Basic, Java, C#, and .NET.
  • Hands-on experience in vulnerability scanning and remediation processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
  • Ability to balance hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities effectively.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern development frameworks.
