The Manufacturing Quality Engineer serves as a primary point of contact for quality-related issues within the operations team. This role involves close collaboration with certified floor auditors, quality layout technicians, production staff, and customer service representatives to ensure adherence to quality standards. The engineer is responsible for developing operating practices to implement preventative actions, ensuring that final products meet or exceed customer expectations.

The engineer is responsible for developing operating practices to implement preventative actions, ensuring that final products meet or exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment, utilizing data analysis to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Review and manage non-conforming products, determining appropriate dispositions.
- Develop qualification protocols and control plans that meet customer requirements while minimizing waste and reducing product returns.
- Ensure all necessary instructions comply with customer specifications, regulatory standards, and quality requirements.
- Support floor auditors and quality technicians by creating and explaining procedures and quality standards.
- Degree in a relevant field.
- 2+ years of quality engineering experience, or a High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
- Proficient in advanced computer applications.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, safety regulations, and standard operating procedures.
- Competency in basic math, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Proficient in statistical tools and methodologies, including Statistical Process Control (SPC).
Certifications:
- Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt) preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and high accuracy in work.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, capable of translating technical data into understandable terms.
- Strong change management abilities, with a focus on clarifying processes and promoting improvements.
- Strong interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with coworkers and external partners, maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
