We are looking for an experienced Senior IT Network Engineer to manage and maintain an enterprise network infrastructure, implementing secure networking solutions and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This role requires strong technical skills in network security, familiarity with compliance frameworks like CMMC and SOC 2, and an ability to maintain detailed network documentation.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls, to support secure operations.
- Configure and optimize routing protocols for efficient and reliable network performance.
- Implement secure networking solutions, including SD-WAN, IPsec tunnels, and segmentation, aligned with compliance requirements.
- Ensure network design and security align with compliance frameworks such as CMMC, NIST 800-171, and SOC 2.
- Take ownership of network issues, troubleshooting and proactively preventing future problems.
- Assess and document the existing network, identifying improvement areas to align with compliance standards.
- Create and maintain clear and auditable documentation for network systems, procedures, and compliance controls.
- Work closely with IT teams to enhance network performance, security, and compliance.
- Stay updated on network technology trends and compliance requirements to continually advance the infrastructure.
Skills & Experience
- Strong background in enterprise networking and secure network design.
- Proficiency with SD-WAN and IPsec tunnel configuration, as well as network segmentation for compliance.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks like CMMC, NIST 800-171, and SOC 2.
- Experience with Cisco Meraki or equivalent tools; familiarity with NGFW and switching technologies is a plus.
- Ability to implement security controls independently, with minimal guidance.
- Proven troubleshooting skills and experience in managing network support under compliance constraints.
- Excellent organizational skills, with proficiency in creating detailed compliance-related documentation.
- Effective communication skills for documenting and reporting compliance activities.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CISSP) are beneficial.
The hourly pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00 per hour depending on experience.
