Senior Network Administrator (Direct-Hire / Hybrid (Rome NY):

Role and Responsibilities :

  • Engineer, create, and maintain daily operational network infrastructure to ensure necessary availability for company success.
  • Deliver expertise in network technologies, including local/wide area networks, wireless networks, software-defined WAN, Session Initiation Protocol, and routing protocols.
  • Uphold contemporary network architecture, access verification methods, and security oversight.
  • Oversee, supervise, and adjust cloud-managed SD-WAN platform.
  • Manage, monitor, and sustain security barriers, remote access systems, and intrusion prevention mechanisms.
  • Orchestrate and configure networking across multiple cloud environments.
  • Support the upkeep and enhancement of access control framework, data protection solution, and multi-step verification system.
  • Create and maintain network asset database, including equipment lifecycle supervision.
  • Devise and implement communication services. Resolve issues for all voice and data requirements.
  • Collaborate with service providers, customers, and internal teams on network deployment, enhancement, and ongoing supervision.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of business continuity measures.
  • Apply advanced problem-solving skills to resolve escalated support requests from first and second-tier support staff promptly.
  • Maintain agreed response times for all inquiries. Report potential SLA breaches to Infrastructure Lead. Ensure application uptime meets established targets. Conceptualize and deploy new tools to support current or future service level commitments.
  • Serve as a key contributor on assigned projects supporting strategic initiatives. May lead internal technical projects. Must prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Document all relevant processes, procedures, and technical information. Record and track all department requests.
  • Adhere to established change management protocols and suggest improvements.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development to maintain expertise in current and emerging technologies.
  • Respond to and investigate security alerts, taking appropriate action. Recommend improvements to monitoring and security posture based on experience and industry trends.

 

Additional Potential Requirements: Flexibility to work non-standard hours and on-call as needed for system support. Willingness to perform design, implementation, and configuration work during off-hours to minimize production impact. Valid driver's license and personal transportation are required.

REQUIRED CREDENTIALS:

Education: Bachelor's degree in relevant technical field. A CCNA and CCNP is strongly preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Experience: 5-8 years of networking experience, including 3-5 years with routing, switching, and telecommunications. Proficiency with enterprise-grade switching and routing hardware. Experience managing next-generation security appliances and intrusion prevention systems. Familiarity with cloud-managed networking platforms. Knowledge of network, system, and security monitoring tools. Comprehensive understanding of current security principles and protocols.

Salary Range: 70,000 - 88,000 (Salary will be based on skill and professional experience)
